  • Happy Birthday

16 years ago today we were blessed with a beautiful daughter, our second.  Rebekah Ann was born in the evening after a long and arduous day of labor and tests to be sure that she would be able to survive out of the womb.  Little do the doctors know.  God is greater than all of their knowledge and tests.  True, her lungs were strong enough but they never thought to look at her heart.  I like to think that God took one look at her and decided that he couldn’t do without her a moment longer.

Enjoy yourself in heaven, baby girl and remember that your mom, dad, brothers and sister are waiting to come and see you someday.

  • We each have little Saints in Heaven, keeping an eye on us… a terrible sorrow, but a wonderful blessing. I’ll keep you and yours in prayer today, heart sister.

Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat eis…

  • Praying for you, and we know and take comfort in knowing that little Rebekah Ann is in that great cloud of witnesses from above…  God has ways of sending us confirmations of that, not that we would need a confirmation, but I believe it is comfort from the Father above giving us special assurance, He loves us so very much…

  • Oh, Ann, this is beautiful!  Happy birthday to Rebekah Ann.  May she pray for us all.

  • Amen – it will be a joyful reunion someday.  I will say a prayer for you and your family.

  • This beautiful post brought tears to my eyes. Your faith strengthens me. God willing, I, too, look forward to the day of meeting my own child in heaven.

  • @whteroses - Makes you want to work harder on your salvation, as if love of God isn’t enough.  God bless you also.  Believe me the fact that we go on after such a tragedy is a testament to love and faith.
