  • The Simple Womans Daybook 6 June 2011

     simple-woman-daybook-small

Outside my window….the sun is up and burning off the fog.  The thermometer says 55 and it looks like it will shape up into an decent day.

I am thinking….about what I need to do today and not feeling like there is too much for a change.

I am thankful for….the power of prayer and the blessings of an Almighty God.

    From the schoolroom…my classes continue.

From the kitchen….something delicious and nutritious will be on the menu.

I am wearing…tee shirt and scrubs. I have my water aerobics class this morning so there is no sense in dressing yet.

I am creating….brilliant works of prose.

I am going…to the Y for my class then to the grocery for a few things.  After that I will be home all day!!!!!!!

I am reading…..a stack of magazines for school research.

I am hoping….that the weather stays dry for awhile longer.  Ian has a lot of hay down and he’d sure like to get it all in.  That’s cash next winter if he can.

I am hearing….Layn chattering in the kitchen, MK and Melissa discussing who has to go where today, and the dog rattling her dish around as she has her breakfast.

Around the house….it is home with that wonderful inviting home feeling.

One of my favorite things…family laughing together over a shared joke.

A few plans for the rest of the week…..school!!!!!!! I have research papers to start and abstracts to write.

Here is a picture thought that I am sharing with you…

Two years ago a little boy in my religion class gave me this rose.  I put it in the garden wondering if it was hardy in New York.  Here it is two years later still blooming.  Thank you Lukas.

  • June 4, 2011

Twenty-eight years ago today I married the man who completed me.  The man whose love and sacrifice have kept me sane and afloat when my sanity has been in jeopardy and my mental ship has foundered.  Twenty-eight years seems like a long time to those who are just starting out and like a blink to those who are far beyond me. But to me they are just right. I have enjoyed what has come before and each moment is a treasure.  I look forward to what lies ahead.
