Baby it's cold outside!
This morning I woke up to find that the snow was falling, again. The temperature had risen to a nice cozy 12 degrees F, and schools and businesses were either opening late or closing down all over the county. All of this is a familiar song that we have been hearing most of this winter. The only difference between the song that we northerners sing and the one that southerners sing is that ours is more like the one that gets caught in your head and you can't get it out; yours is the kind that is either a happy song (if you are a kid and school is closed) or it's a song of annoyance (if you are an adult and you have to get to work).
Since I don't have to go to work or to school (mine is here on my computer) why don't we just put the kettle on and brew a nice cup of hot tea.

Pull up a chair by the stove. Feel free to put your toes on the fender if they are still nippy from the cold.
Now that we are comfy we can sit here a look out at the cold and snow and enjoy it the way that God intended, from the inside looking out. The cows don't seem to mind a bit, of course they have built in fur coats.
The creek has been iced over for weeks which has prompted Doug and Matthew to have to go down and break the ice every couple of days so the cows can still have water to drink.
The view is divine, when seen from our nice warm place by the fire.
Can't even tell that our town boys have been up and down the road several times this morning. Don't fault them though, we have the best highway department around. The snow is just falling faster than they can keep up with it at the moment. The answer to this dilemma is to stay inside and let the boys do their work unimpeded.
Drink up there is plenty more wood for the fire.
