Outside my window….it’s 34 and there is rain coming out of the sky.  I have deliberately drawn the curtains and refuse to be a part of this fickle weather situation.  Yesterday it was 25 and snowing.  I’m not saying that I like snow better but let us make up our minds here.

I am thinking….this house and family could use a good airing.  Everyone is sick except for Doug.  I don’t know why he has been spared but I am thankful.  We have a house full of coughs, sneezes, runny noses, and fevers. Even Layn, poor soul, is sick.

I am thankful for….Puffs tissues, Tylenol PM, orange juice, and a husband who is willing to rub my feet to help me sleep.

From the schoolroom….education will continue, albiet at a much slower pace due to illness but it will continue.

From the kitchen….that is a good question.  No cooking happened over the weekend so all of our leftovers are effectively gone.  Guess I need to take something out of the freezer.

I am wearing…..long flannel jammies.  Everyone is wearing jammies.  Everyone is curled up and comfy with pillows and quilts and hot mugs of tea.

I am creating…..all creative activity is on hold at present.

    I am going….to stay home.

I am reading….King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table by Howard Pyle

I am hoping…..that everyone will be quite recovered by the end of the week.

I am hearing….the printer in the other room printing out MK’s schoolwork,  Matthew coughing while he writes in his journal, and the sound of the bubbler on the fish tank.

Around the house….everything is quiet.  Layn is napping and everyone else is in quiet mode.

One of my favorite things…hot cups of tea and clean tissues.

A few plans for the rest of the week….this week there are no plans except to take each day as it comes.

Here is a picture thought that I am sharing with you……

My new diningroom table.  It wasn’t in the house ten minutes and it was already being pressed into service.

  • I like your new table, and I like that it was immediately useful. I hope everyone recovers quickly. The Puffs with Vicks scent are really good for stuffy noses.

  • I too like your new table and Puffs with Vicks.  Get well soon.  Spring is just around the corner…..I hope.

  • I hope your weather sure gets better more like spring / summer kind….and your new table looks very nice!

  • Look at all the boards in that table, nice big one!
Nothing AT ALL like Puffs when you are sick my hubby brought home cheap ones and I made him go back..my red nose would have made him go back anyway I just  did it before pity had a chance.

  • @seedsower - Now that all the kids are grown we finally have a table that fits our family.  Now we leave a scrabble game set up at one end and eat at the other end.
