More various and sundry…….actually I am avoiding researching for my papers.
Instead of working on my research, which is what I should be doing, I am wandering around taking pictures, taking pride in all the work that has been done around here, and just generally avoiding intellectual pursuits for a little while. To those of you who may be concerned for my education, fear not duty will prevail.
The pool is empty and Ian is scooping out the leaves and scrubbing down the liner. Believe it or not it is a job that he really enjoys.
Matthew, home from a four-day weekend in the Adirondacks feels the need to reconnect with Layn. It sure is good to have him home again.
Taking an inordinate amount of pride in the look of my garden. The cold frames have lettuce in them, not a great crop but still it’s mine. It truly means a lot to me to sit outside in the mornings, drink my coffee and remember the contributions of each of my children to the progress that has been made around here.
I just discovered that Mary-Kate’s climatis vine has flowered well ahead of all the rest. What a bit of joy to see those lovely blooms when you walk around that side of the deck. To those who asked me why we planted on the back side of the deck, and you know who you are, this is the reason. It is such a pleasant surprise to come upon something like this when you are walking around the yard, totally unexpected indeed.

It is nice to hear that anyone enjoys a job- seems rarer these days…
My mother loves Clematis. She would no doubt enjoy this one. I t is beautiful!
Enjoyed catching up on all your posts. Congrats to MK!!! Bet her mom is just as smart though. Wish we had a pool. Heck I’d even just take a “lane” long enough to do laps! Then I wouldn’t have to drive 40 miles round trip to swim 3 times a week.
lovely
@TheSunnyC - At least where you live I suspect that you get enough warm weather to justify having a pool. Last summer ours barely got used. We had our 90′s in May then it was cool all summer long. Ended up lowering it and capping off the pump and filter in August.
Hope your week goes well, and all the papers get done without too much hassle.
