  • I think she went a bit too far this time!!!!!!!!!

There is no bubble solution left in my garage.  I usually buy it by the quart and it is all gone!!!!! I looked out at the fountain this morning and saw no fountain only bubbles.  This time I think she has gone a bit too far.  What if I want to blow bubbles?  What if I want to have all my little five-year-old friends over for a bubble blowing party?

The garden looks great from this angle doesn’t it.  You can’t tell that there is one whole bed that is only grass and that the pole beans have grown over the top of the trellis.  This is the time of year when there is no weeding getting done.  But, there are lots of beans in the freezer along with peas and broccoli and grated up zucchini to be made into bread, cakes, and muffins come winter.  There is also many jars of jams and jellies waiting to be opened to bless those who like that kind of stuff.  I just have to find someone around here who hasn’t been hit by late blight to supply me with tomatoes so that I can fill many jars of tomatoes and sauce and soup for the coming cold months.

The hop vines are in full bloom.  I love to sit under them and smell the wonderful yeasty odor that they give off.  I have managed to propogate three new vines in the past few weeks and there looks like two more potential plants out there for next week.

This morning was Brutus’ first day of school.  He doesn’t look too eager to go to his first obedience class.  Actually he is wondering why Isabella got her breakfast and he didn’t get any.  By the time we got home from class I was wringing wet with sweat and he was ready for a nap.  But I think that we both learned something.   If he isn’t better behaved yet he is on his way to being a better dog.  We are becoming equipped to be better citizens of the neighborhood.

Maybe next week’s class will be a bit easier on at least one of us, I hope.

  • Haha, your daughter did that? That’s cute. I dumped one of those small things of bubbles into the washing machine while it was running once. My mom didn’t think it was as funny as I did.

  • @scrambledmegzntoast@hardestlevel - My son put regular dish soap in the dishwasher once and you should have seen the results of that.  We like bubbles around here.  I am just fascinated with them.  But she did run me completely out of bubbles!!!! I am going to have to make a bubble run tonight to the dollar store.  BTW my daughter is 19! She’s an awful lot like her mother I’m afraid.

  • @perelandra30 - Oh, I did that once too but I actually thought it was ok to do. We didn’t have dishwasher soap.  Yeah, it comes out bad. That is so funny, I was like eight or something like that. I might keep that in mind for public fountains in the future

  • Isn’t the bubble water a natural bug deterent? You might have a “Go Green” bug fountain there.

  • I like the way the fountain looks!

  • With a strong dog like him you are sure doing the right thing in taking the two of you to training.  We did that with Zeb even tho he never goes off our land.

  • I haven’t added any bubbles to the fountain since tthe first time, and you have a big jug of bubbles in the garage!!!!!!! You should see what happens when you freeze bubbles!!!

  • @Jaynebug - @TheLoquaciousLady - @mksmak - I don’t know about a Go Green bug fountain but I know it is a conversation piece whenever someone pulls in the driveway.  I like the way it looks too.  Sort of like a confection that is whipped up from egg whites.  It makes me happy to see it just like the color green does and hearing birdsong does.  It calms something inside of me and makes me feel a sort of secret joy.

I never saw the rest of the bubbles in the garage just the empties in the recyclable barrel.  I need to keep some on hand just in case Miss Claire comes to call or Miss Payton and her sisters come over.  You never know when you will need bubbles.  They are just as important to keep on hand as a classic black dress and an extra cup of sugar.

  • @TheSunnyC - I hope that the things we learn will help both Brutus and his sister.  He is still sleeping off the experience and I have one broken finger, my fault.  We’ll see what next Saturday brings.

  • Hilarious!  It looks like it would be a blast to play in and around!

  • @mksmak - What happens???

Looks totally cool though and MK needs to make sure the full bottles are in full view.
So obedience training is your new exercise program?
My mother-in-law misread a dish washing liquid bottle to mean that it was safe to use in the dishwasher…we had lots of bubbles that night
    The garden looks great
    How are the chickens?

  • @ugotafriend - When you freeze bubles you can mold them really easy, but once they come out of the freezer they start pooping really fast!! It is so cool!!!!!

  • @mksmak - sounds like something the troops and I will have to try
