A Few Good-Byes
Today Mary-Kate wanted to say good-bye to some of her friends before she leaves for school. So, off we went over to Mrs. Daly’s house. Mary is a long time friend. She has known MK since she was five years-old. She has been like another mother to her and Doug and I have, many times, trusted Mary and Dan with Mary-Kate overnight and at their cottage. Many of her high points in life were shared by all of us and often she celebrated things like birthdays and Christmas in both homes. So we ladies spent one of old time afternoons together having lunch and watching a movie while chatting about everything under the sun. Mary-Kate even played the piano for Mary just as she has for many years. When it was time for us to leave I had to snap this photo of them together. I think Mary will be missing MK as much as I will.
Then it was off to Landis’ and the farm where he rdad also works. Now, Mary-Kate’s way of saying good-bye to Arie and all of the Landis’ is to come and help them do chores and, today, helping put the cows out into the new pasture that her dad built for them.
Hey, whatever makes her happy. Tomorrow she is going to spend the day with her friend Heidi and then we will have a special meal together and have a “family” evening together.
Thursday morning we will pack the car and take her off to school.

Cool — her own goodbye tour. What a great way for her to store up memories. Nice of her to help move the cows too.
I’m getting teary-eyed just thinking how difficult that would be….prayers for you and her….God bless.
Big hugs to you, Ann.
My wife and I have been tearing up over our son starting Kindergarten..He’s so cute, before we know it he’ll be grown though. I think I understand where you are coming from. By the way, Ave Maria is so sweet and haunting at the same time. Hope you guys are well!
