Her Back Is Healed And Getting Stronger
I recently went to school to pick MK up and got there a little early. The older kids were having gym class and were playing kick ball out side. Now her back doctor gave her permission to play some gym as long as there would be no danger of contact with other kids. So I guess she felt that kick ball was okay. So I sat in my car and watched her play ball and took these pictures of her.
My daughter has never been the team sports type. Definitely preferring to be in control of what was going on around her. I was proud of her performance here though. The other kids were yelling at her because they seemed to think that she would not do well because of her enforced inactivity of the last months. But she gave that ball a good wallop.
She managed to run to first on her own in spite of them yelling that they would do it for her. Don’t challenge my stubborn daughter. Her motto has always been that she can do it herself (even when she can’t she will at least try before she admits defeat)
Then she made it to second when the next kid kicked the ball. She was not going to be the reason for an out for her team.
Here she is on third. She is still determined not to be the reason for an out. (she later told me that she may not understand all the rules but she knows what makes an out and she isn’t going to do that). Then the next kid kicked and the pitcher caught the ball and that was the third out and she didn’t even get to go home. At least she didn’t make that third out. That’s my girl.

How great that she’s doing better! I love the entry about her dance, too. She did a stellar job on that dress and she looked so pretty!!!
There are more things on heaven and earth than sports. Still, determination is not a bad thing to have on occasion.
