Day After Christmas Present for Me
Starting the day after Christmas I got a great Christmas present. My three bred sows started to have their piglets. One of them only had three. But the other two had 11 each.
The one that I am holding here is the runt of all three litters. It needed a little extra TLC. So I kept it in my coat pocket to keep it warm.
The others came out and were ready and fighting to get something to eat right away.
After they have had enough to eat they snuggle down in the hay and go to sleep. Being born is a very strenuous thing. We got a lot of color this time and buyers like that so I guess I should do well when selling time rolls around.
As of today we have we have 19 still living out of the original 25 that were born. That’s pretty good for winter piglets. Last week the temps. were in the single digits but this week they are supposed to be in the 40′s so that should help everyone to grow well.

Yummish. I’m getting hungry just looking at them. Do we have a fatted pig ready to kill?
Awwww….they are so cute.
YAY!!! How adorable! I’ve never seen one outside of the biology lab (pathetic, I know).
RYC: He is indeed fine. He liked the attention for a while. Then I became more like a fly buzzing around his head. His annoyance with me made me feel better.
This little piggy went to market…..
Great pictures. Thanks for posting
Hello!
Thank you so much for your sweet and kind comment and wishing me a happy 18th birthday.
My mom told me also that it was your daughters 18th birthday, and she also watched the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice! What a coincident! We must be kindred spirits! LOL
Your little piglets are SO cute! I enjoyed seeing the pics.
I hope you’re having a wonderful day!
Blessings, ~Michelle
Awww…. *squeals* they’re so cute! Reminds me of “little Wilbur” in “Charlotte’s Web”… how fun!
RYC: Thank you so much!
Have a wonderful day!

Can we start with Pigs in a blanket?
Thanks for the sweet comment, I always enjoy you coming over to visit! : ) You’re always a great encouragement, your son above, he’s such a hoot! His last comment cracked me up… Too funny.
Have a most wonderful day! How are those cute little piglets?
Its funny to hear everyone say “awe how cute” even I thought it. But your thoughts must be “thats a good meal”, or “thatll make us money”. See how different cultures respond?
Why do colors get you more money? Does the color have anything to do with the meat inside?
I loved your post on NY state. It is maddening when I tell people I’m originally from NY, and they start asking how I can stand it in the country after being in the city all my life! Maybe I should get little pocket cards made up with all that info you posted, hand it to them and say “here, get a clue! Its not all city ya know!!”
Haven’t browsed your site in quite a while, and I love the new layout and colors! Looks so springy and fresh!
Aww! Those are so precious! Like my sister said, they remind me of Wilbur from Charlotte’s Web.
What fun it must be living on a farm!
I love your layout- it is so beautiful! Thank you for such a sweet comment; your comments are always so encouraging and full of motherly wisdom that we daughters all need to hear! Thank you, ~Marianna
