  • Toys are for the unimaginative ones

I am not exactly certain what Layn was thinking or what he was pretending but he sure was having a good time today.  He completely emptied the box that normally holds all of his toys and climed in.  He kept the giraffe to chew on (a guy has to eat you know) and started to chatter like there was far too much to say.

Then for a solid 30 minutes he was the master of whatever world his mind had created.

  • Our kids had a wonderful time for a few days with a big appliance box, some 18 years ago.

When I was about 5, we were living in a jungle town in Colombia. A friend came by dragging a sardine tin on a string, and I envied him. It looked like such a cool toy! Much more interesting than my plastic jet or even my Tonka jeep.

  • Ha. Cutie patootie.

  • Kids love boxes and using their own imaginations.  I wish parents that load their children’s world with electronic toys and constant lessons from dance to little league, not that those are bad in moderation, realized how much children just need time to play and read and enjoy being a child.

  • A chariot, a buckboard, a ship, only the little master knows!

    Good stuff~
