A little creativity going on this week
Doug is in need of a new coverall and since they are so expensive ready made I commissioned Matthew to make him a new one. When it comes to this kind of sewing Matthew is way beyond my abilities. Now all his dad has to do is try it on so that the pants can be hemmed and fasteners can be attached.
I also decided to make something for Layn to wear for Easter. Nothing too fancy but something new to him was in order. My first attempt is this blue gingham outfit with a scotty dog appliqued on the bib. Ian said no. No flowers!!!
Back to the drawing board and I came up with this tractor outline. Much more boyish! How could Ian possibly object to this outfit? We'll see when he gets home tonight.

The Easter outfit turned out great! I liked the Scotty dog and the tractor is terrific
lol. Boys are allergic to flowers. Sewing a coveralls seems like lots of work.
@squeakysoul - Matthew just whips them out like there is nothing to it. He even modified the pattern for his father's body type. I have no patience for all of the pockets and the top stitching that goes along with this type of sewing. Strange since I do a lot embellishing on little girl outfits.
