  • Enjoying Mary-Kate’s Birthday Gift

Jason gave Mary-Kate a 410 shotgun for her birthday this year.  She was thrilled.  So this past Sunday afternoon we all went out shooting at targets.

Mary-Kate let her dad use her gun to try it out.  He didn’t hit the milk jug.  Here’s Jason with his 30/30.  He hit the milk jug.

Dad trys again and manages to hit the milk jug finally.  He claims that it’s difficult with bifocals.  Does anyone believe that?  Now Matthew is going to give it a try but he’s using my .22

Ever seen such concentration.  He hit the milk jug a few times.  That gun is old and delicate.  It’s hard for anyone to be accurate with, except mom.  I hit the milk jug everytime.  Keep practicing Matthew.

  • Ameteurs!!!! It’s a good thing the Mom can shoot at least.

  • Awesome!  Are you allowed to shoot on your property?  I wasn’t sure if there is some kind of zoning law or something for usage of guns.  You can tell I am very new to the whole gun thing.

It’s great that your kids are comfortable around guns.  I was brought up to think that unless they’re in the hands of a cop or soldier, guns are evil (my mom’s philosophy, my dad never really addressed it).  John was not brought up that way, so we really butted heads about it after we got married.  He’s the man, so his word is what stuck and I’m glad it did.  I’ve been with him to shooting ranges since and we purchased a hand gun.  I’m much more comfortable with them now and have adopted the opinion that fearing them is the worst.

  • Your Birthday I hear???    Well…Happy Birthday!!!!!

    Hugs!

  • What happened to my comment above?  lol  I wanted to personally tell you happy birthday!!!!    Happy Birthday hugs coming your way!!!

Neat pics.  We used to live on ten acres and the pics remind me of our time in the country.  : )

Hope you are having a most wonderful day doing what you like to do!

  • Happy birthday to you dear friend (I am glad that your son let that cat out of the bag).
The shooting looks fun. Training in marksmanship is an essential art.

You are a super special woman and my estimation of you keeps going up to new and dizzying heights (you have raised wonderful children, you can cook, sew and shoot — you are a well rounded woman.) I know your struggles and yet the Lord has used you and continues to use you in so many ways.

    Birthday blessings to you. donna

If I’d have known (and I lived a few thousand miles closer), I’d have baked you a cake.

  • I hear it was your birthday! Happy, happy birthday to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I hope you had a wonderfully blessed birthday with many more!

    Love, Michelle

  • Oh my goodness, I’m so slow!  Happy belated birthday!

    God bless!
